Welcome to Seoul, the City of Ages!
Capital and City for over 2,000 years, it is now home to 10 million lively residents who truly embrace the ethos of working hard and playing hard. Our team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel in Yeo-ido, an island on the Han River that is the center of government and business. Seoul is listed in the top 5 metropolitan economies, behind New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Yoido, home to the National Assembly and boasting Fortune 500 skyscraper buildings, makes the perfect jumping-off point to explore the greater city, UNESCO sites, or the ultra-modern. We’ll meet for a welcome dinner and introduce ourselves at Happy Hour in the Hotel.

Seoul City to Yangpyeong

First day of adventure, don’t miss anything!
The morning will be dedicated to assembling your bikes, inspecting rental options, and adjusting accessories as needed. Once everything is set up, you’ll embark on a ride to explore some of the city’s must-see landmarks. Seoul features five UNESCO World Heritage sites, the most impressive of which is Gyeongbokgung Palace, which once housed over 7,700 rooms. The charming neighborhood of Samcheongdong Street offers a striking contrast to the city’s historic splendor, featuring trendy cafés and art galleries nestled among traditional Korean houses. As you leave the city, you’ll stop for lunch at Paldang Dam, where you will notice that the landscape begins to shift. Mountains and rivers will come into view as you continue the journey into the countryside of Yangpyeong. Enjoy a traditional dinner at Ori Bulgogi.

Han River to Chungju
Relax at a Korean Hot Spring!
Today’s ride traces the Han River on a special bike path. Easing ourselves into life in the saddle, pedal on flat paths flanked by pine trees to our lunch spot. There, you will be treated to a Hanjeongsik meal, a traditional menu style that incorporates a wide selection of dishes. Finish cycling at Angsung, a Hot Spring region of Chungju city, situated in the shadow of Uamsan Mountain. It is famed for the annual martial arts festival and for being the hometown of former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon. There will be plenty of time to enjoy a Korean Hot Spring before happy hour and dinner tonight.

DAY 4
Chungju to Mungyeong
Explore the historical city of Mungyeong!
We leave the pine forests of Chungju and head towards the historic city of Mungyeong. Toward the end of the ride today, we will tackle a couple of hills, Sojoryung (1,180 ft), with around 2.5 km (1.6 miles) of climbing, and Ihwaryung(1,798 ft), with a climb of around 5km (3 miles). Ihwaryung serves as a natural boundary between Chungcheong Province and Gyeongsang Province, created in the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). Your destination is the capital of Gyeongsang Province, Mungyeong City. The city is steeped in history and is known for its ancient buildings and scenic attractions along the roads. The city’s name translates to “hearing good news”. Dinner tonight is at a quaint local BBQ restaurant.

Munggyeong to Andong
The Nakdong River and the Gyeongsang province.
Today, we will pick up the Nakdong bike path leading from Busan to the East Sea. We will take the direction towards the East Sea and Angdong. Andong Hahoe village is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is a traditional village from the Joseon Dynasty era. Its name means river return, and the village is nestled between Cliffs to the North and Mount Namsan to the South. Our accommodation for the next 2 days is a real treat, and we will dine tonight on the traditional dish of jjim, which originates in the region.

DAY 6
Free day at Andong Hahoe Village
Andong Hahoe village – a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Today, take the time to soak up the rich atmosphere and sights of Andong Hahoe Village. Although it’s a rest day, there’s still much to see. Jump on a local bus, walk the narrow streets, and try some of the delicious traditional food on offer. We will make some recommendations for dinner tonight, so rest your legs and enjoy the accommodations before your ride begins again in the morning.

Andong to Cheongsong
Cheongsong UNESCO Global Geopark – the Green Treasure!
Today offers a fairly cruising ride as we skirt Andong Lake. After that, we’ll spend some miles on regular roads, gradually entering the stunningly beautiful Taebak mountainous region. The temperatures here are noticeably cooler; moreover, the area hosts annual ice climbing festivals. As we approach Cheongsong, we may even encounter some frozen areas.
The region, whose name translates to Green Treasure, is home to a UNESCO Global Geopark and boasts rare and interesting rock formations. In the evening, our hotel for the night is a hot springs lodge set in a picturesque location. There, we can soothe our cycling muscles in the restorative waters before gathering for happy hour and dinner.

Cheongsong to Yeongdeok
A challenging climb awaits us on our short ride today.
Our day begins on quiet and flat roads, heading towards the East Sea. As we approach the ocean, we will tackle the Juwang Mountain climb. Once we cross the pass at 2,365ft, we will gaze at the blue waters and then descend to Yeongdeok town. For seafood lovers, this stop is especially exciting, as Yeongdeok is famed for Korean King Crab. Therefore, tonight we will recommend some options for enjoying this delicacy.
As for accommodations, today’s lodging is full of character. The hotel only has single/double rooms, which means twins can enjoy each having a room to themselves!

Yeongdeok to Gyeongju
It’s the last riding day on the mainland.
We will have to push to reach Gyeongju, almost 56 miles away. The coastal city of Gyeongju has been a settlement for nearly 2,000 years and was once the fourth-largest city in the world. The ancient city is known as a living museum, as it contains artifacts from Silla, one of Korea’s ancient Kingdoms from BC 15 to AC 800. We will visit its streets, packed with history and relics from ancient civilisations. Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant, and our accommodations are in a sprawling traditional house, which comes straight from a Korean historical drama.

DAY 10
Busan and flight to Jeju Island
Feel the real sense of Busan!
After checking out of our traditional house Hotel, we will board a train to Busan. Korea’s trains are world famous, and they will offer us another way to see the countryside as we cross the region to the peninsula of Busan. Upon arrival, we will explore Gamcheon, a cultural village, to discover Busan’s Color, the lively Jagalchi fish market, and Nampodong Street to experience the city’s dynamic atmosphere. After lunch, we will have free time for a couple of hours. Then, we’ll go to Busan airport to catch a domestic flight to Jeju Island. It is only a one-hour flight, and we will stay at a hotel in Jeju for rest.

DAY 11
Jeju city to Seogwipo
Welcome to Jeju, a land of scenic beaches and volcanic landscapes.
The dormant Hallasan Mountain rises majestically in the Yellow Sea. The weather is noticeably warmer, and Jeju has long been the favourite holiday destination for South Koreans. The island offers a fabulous bike track around the whole coastline. Our ride today begins along the beach road from Jeju through the most populous part of the island, stopping along the way to check out the breathtaking lava structures forming the coast. By the end of the day, we will have ridden around one-third of the island’s circumference and can reflect on the contrasting experience of Jeju at happy hour tonight and maybe sample a craft ale from Jeju Brewery.

Seogwipo to Seongsan
Seogwipo, a seaside town steeped in a long history.
A UNESCO World Heritage site, its story is inextricably linked to Japanese colonization and the division of Korea. These days, it is an idyllic place to walk around the streets, markets, and citrus gardens, a key crop of the region. We begin today’s ride with a tour of some of the historic and modern features of Jeju’s second city. After lunch, we will head out onto the coastal bike path again, circumnavigating the bottom of the Island to Seongsan. This part of the route features some of the most interesting volcanic geology, characterized by rugged lava cliffs and ancient craters.

DAY 13
Seongsan to Jeju City
Begin our final riding day with energy!
Today, we will see Sunrise Peak rising from the sea. An archetypal Tuff Cone formed over 5,000 years ago by hydrovolcanic eruptions. Its walls hide a crater that has a unique ecosystem within. Riding northwards now, we will round the coast to the tiny Island of Udo, outlined with black sand beaches. As we reach the Northern side again, we will pass several volcanic hills, often containing sacred shrines, which have spilled upwards out of the ground from volcanic activity. Our ride today ends in Jeju City with a farewell dinner and a special happy hour.
